First of all, a tribute: As a lifelong lover of fine editions of
great books, and a devout student of the Bible, I have always had a deep
interest in high-quality Bibles. When I discovered J. Mark Bertrand’s
Bible Design Blog
a few years ago, the interest became an obsession. If imitation is the
sincerest form of flattery, I hope that this additional attempt to
further the discussion of the form and function of Holy Writ will
reflect an appropriate appreciation for Mark’s efforts that have done a
great deal to inspire the Bible-reading public to expect more of the
editions the publishers sell us and to find greater enjoyment in reading
great editions of the Scriptures.
About Robert Munday

I
spent thirty years in theological education, serving as Professor of
Systematic Theology and Dean of Library and Information Services at
Trinity School for Ministry, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and following that with ten years as President and Dean of
Nashotah House Theological Seminary,
in Nashotah, Wisconsin. These days I am Rector (senior pastor) of All
Saints Anglican Church in Montrose, Colorado. My theological influences
include John Stott and J.I. Packer, both of whom I have been blessed
to know personally since my own days as a seminary student. Most
recently, I was privileged to work with Dr. Packer on the
Catechism
of the Anglican Church in North America. As one who has seen the power
of the Bible, as the Word of God written, to transform lives, my
reverence for the Scriptures extends into matters of translation and
also an appreciation of the great care that has been taken to prepare
beautiful editions of the Bible down through the ages.
